Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the first step?
Get your CV up to date – see CV writing tips. This is essential. Call us or email your CV to recruit@findajobea.co.uk or apply for a position through the Vacancies page. If your skills suit a role we will then call you for an initial chat and to arrange an appointment to register with us.

Why do I need to register?
We guarantee to all clients that we have interviewed all candidates. We want to talk to you and find out what you want, like, dislike, aspire to. Its difficult to tell this from a CV and we don’t agree with picking unknown CVs off jobs boards and submitting to clients. Would you like your CV sent to a company without your knowledge or consent?

What should I bring with me?
Passport – to confirm eligibility to work in the UK. If no passport then full birth certificate and proof of NI will suffice.

What happens during the registration process?
You will need to complete a registration form with contact details, NI number, salary expectations. We will then assess your skills. Typically this will be on Word copy typing and spelling but if your area of expertise lie elsewhere we can test on data entry, Excel, PowerPoint, audio typing, Access, shorthand. We will take a copy of your passport. Once you have finished the skills assessment you will then have an interview with one of our consultants. We will go through your CV and match you with any current vacancies. Now is the time to pipe up about your dream job wish list – don’t be shy, we’ve heard it all before. If you want to work in the same street where you live, need to get home at lunch time to let the hamster out, or can only work on Tuesdays – LET US KNOW.

I work out of town and its difficult to get time off – how can I register with you?
We are open on Monday to Friday, 8am – 5.30pm. If you are unable to come in during those hours we can see you before 8am or after 5.30pm or on a Saturday. The registration process can take up to an hour but we can email the tests and registration forms to save you time.
